Calpwr was formed in August of 2000 and incorporated in 2001 in the state of California in anticipation of numerous product & service marketing opportunities emerging from energy deregulation in the U.S. The basic tenet that the organization was founded upon is summed up as “…the need to provide not just products to address on-site generation, but to provide well-engineered solutions and applications that will maximize the value of the generation asset.” Shortly after the company was founded, Calpwr joined forces with World Energy Partners (WEP), under the Calpwr banner, offering increased market penetration and service offerings. This partnership offered immersion into the domestic DG marketplace as well as the international energy sector, more specifically in Latin and Central America. Business efforts in these regions were undertaken due to the favorable conditions that currently exist with deregulation domestically and with the newly adopted privatization in the Americas energy sector. Ultimately, penetration in both the domestic and international sectors is realized through the dedicated efforts of the founding principals who boast a strong foothold in power plant development and plant services in the US, Latin & Central America.

In addition to the considerable skills of the founding principals, Calpwr strives to recruit and retain seasoned professionals with skills and capabilities well suited to the emerging technology markets. Calpwr's headquarters is located in Escondido, CA. All Financial, Marketing, Sales, Technical and Administrative functions are handled at the headquarters. A satellite office in Boston, MA also serves businesses and corporate opportunities in the Eastern US. Management functions are handled between the managing partners in all offices.
